Top Hats and Tiaras Tea and a New Purse!

Earlier this month the guild gathered for tea at the Chocolate Angel in Richardson. Everyone wore their finest top hat or tiara, and we had a wonderful time!

The food and tea were delicious. I really love the tiny sandwiches. I know how much work that is, but I wish I could have this kind of tea every day!

I wore the same dress I made for last year's Picnic with the Pixies, but I tried a high bun hairstyle and made a new purse.

It's made from Butterick 3485, an out of print pattern. Basically it's a large lined circle with pairs of buttonholes worked around the edge. Everything came from my stash: a gray and sliver brocade, silver silk dupioni, silver ribbon, and two I-only-have-one-of-these buttons. Sewing and cutting the buttonholes took the longest, but even so I managed to make this the morning of the event and it only took a couple interrupted hours. It's smallish, but large enough to hold my phone, keys, cash, ID, and some other small necessities. Plus it matched my outfit perfectly!
